“Indeed, if we had to choose between learning and virtue, the latter is definitely more valuable. The good heart, which is the fruit of virtue, is by itself a great benefit to humanity. Mere knowledge is not.”
His Holiness The Dalai Lama

Overview of a Rigpé Yeshé programme:

Children are grouped according to age, and each group has a separate space. Group activities vary according to age.

4-5 year olds:
Children are welcomed into an inspiring, caring and safe environment. They engage in simple activities of arts and crafts, stories, singing, yoga and free play. Emphasis is on sharing and being kind to each other.

6-7 year olds:
Children are encouraged to trust in their basic goodness. They engage in activities and discussions as means to develop emotional intelligence. Importance is given to growing up to be strong and courageous.

8-11 year olds:
Children are empowered to take charge of their own mind and their own happiness. They are introduced to breathing meditation. They also enjoy meditative arts, such as calligraphy, and sports including archery.

Teenagers:
Teenagers have a full
teen programme. They attend the teachings and form discussions groups. They take their place as assistants in the children's programmes and other areas of community activity. They develop their training in the meditative arts and in camp exercises.

Rigpé Yeshé’s summer programmes offer quality care and activities for children and teenagers, aged 4 to 16, whose parents are attending the main summer retreats in Lerab Ling.

Rigpé Yeshé is a parents' association, and the programmes are organised by parents and for parents. You will therefore be asked to participate in the parents' rota, but will not have to do any rotas for Lerab Ling.

All children on the Lerab Ling site need to be registered in the Rigpé Yeshé Programme. If you do not wish your child to attend throughout the retreat, please specify intended participation dates on the registration form. We regret that we are unable to give Programme Fee refunds after 18th June.
